PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Hamilton-Niagara Region, together with Global Startups Accelerator, runs a free in-person scaleup bootcamp for international startups seeking to expand into Canada, using the City of Hamilton and Niagara as their point of entry. The week combines training sessions, site visits, coaching, and structured networking with the local business community.

Food and beverage processing, warehousing, distribution, and value-added agriculture technology for wine, greenhouse, cash crops, poultry, egg, vegetable, mushroom, and dairy production.
Steel production, heavy and general manufacturing, storage and warehousing, plus automation, robotics, AI-powered quality control, and predictive maintenance.
Biotechnology, medical imaging, diagnostics, and drug discovery, anchored by McMaster University, Hamilton Health Sciences, and St. Joseph’s Healthcare.
IoT, cloud computing, unified communications, 5G/6G, Web3, and quantum computing, supported by a workforce of approximately 4.9 million people within a one-hour drive.

Niagara is very outstanding in agriculture and has a strong connection to export to US market! The research ecosystem is aligned with the business needs! I find it ideal for health and agriculture startups. Very organized.
What impressed me most about Niagara was its strong ecosystem connecting innovation, education, and community well-being. I was fascinated to see how research, entrepreneurship, and social impact are integrated across the region — especially how local institutions like Brock University actively support health and technology initiatives that align with Sandora’s mission. It’s a region that truly values collaboration and real-world solutions.
Visiting universities and innovation hubs showed me how academia, startups, and local organizations collaborate closely to drive entrepreneurship and technological development. I was particularly impressed by the way Hamilton fosters connections between emerging companies and experienced mentors, creating a supportive environment that encourages innovation and growth.
