Last year’s WebSummit Rio was nothing short of spectacular. It offered us an invaluable opportunity to connect with an array of remarkable entrepreneurs from Brazil and across Latin America. Our experiences were enriched by the diversity of ideas, the passion for innovation, and the shared aspirations that resonated with everyone we met.
As Latin America remains the heart of our community base in Canada, participating in the second year of WebSummit Rio was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. This region’s vibrant entrepreneurial spirit aligns perfectly with our mission to foster a supportive and collaborative international tech ecosystem.
We’re excited to announce our upcoming initiative in São Paulo: Canada 101. This program connects Latin American startups with the Canadian tech ecosystem, providing a comprehensive guide for scaling businesses in North America, using Canada as a global launchpad.
Through Canada 101, we aim to provide startups with the tools, knowledge, and connections needed to thrive on an international stage. So, this year, we’re partnering with the Hamilton-Niagara region to offer a broader perspective on what the Canadian tech ecosystem offers international tech companies. This collaboration enhances our ability to support tech companies looking to make their mark in Canada, through the Startup Visa Program, which has benefited several Brazilian tech companies.
Our team eagerly anticipates our visit to São Paulo, where we aim to strengthen partnerships and cultivate relationships within the local tech community. Our activities in São Paulo will parallel those in Rio, including another Canada 101 session and productive meetings with key partners.
