BeltecHub listed in “Top Toronto Manufacturing Startups” and Joins Silicon Valley’s Plug and Play’s Playbook Startups Portfolio

BeltecHub

“We have been recently ranked by BestStartups.ca as one of the top Toronto based startups in the streams of manufacturing, e-commerce and supply chain industries respectively, and this is one indicator that we are going in the right direction.” – Mario Escoto Damos, CEO and Founder of BeltecHub

BeltecHub is a marketplace for industrial belting and automation manufacturing to make bulk manufacturing and global exporting a simpler process. Recently, they were listed in BestStartups.ca’s list of 101 Top Manufacturing Startups and Companies in Toronto (2021), along with other good news of their selection to be part of Silicon Valley’s Plug and Play’s Playbook Startups portfolio.

Born and raised in Honduras, Mario Escoto Damas, CEO and Founder of BeltecHub, conceptualized the company in early 2019 in Latin America. BeltecHub is their Canadian startup, a corporate spin-off of the Honduras-based company INVERCA SRL. He and his team brought the concept to Canada to seek business in other markets and go global, officially founding the company in October 2019. Through its global B2B platform, its comprehensive manufacturing and supply chain network enable the industrial belting and automation markets to be more efficient. Their platform streamlines and simplifies the discovery, acquisition, and sourcing of supplies, equipment, materials, and MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) products.

Since its creation, BeltecHub has received interest from several business entities, market leaders, and venture capital firms, meanwhile joining incubators and accelerators like TechPlace, and LatAm Startups’ 3-phase program. After being selected to take part in LatAm Startups’ Phase 3: Accelerator (Start-up Visa Program) last year, Escoto is looking forward to the opportunity of a permanent residency in Canada and the impact it will bring.

“The fact that BeltecHub was selected to be part of LatAm Startups’ Startup Visa Program last year has given us (the founders) the opportunity of a permanent residence in Canada, and that’s a priceless benefit and advantage to promote entrepreneurship and economic development in the region.”

Escoto shared that funding is something to look forward to down the road; currently, they are prioritizing the growth of their customers’ portfolio and engaging with new customers globally. Nonetheless, they are excited and feel that having a presence in Playbook, an exclusive invite-only platform to connect with investors and corporate partners at Plug and Play Ventures, is another step in the right direction. In an industry where businesses are looking for reputable providers, BeltecHub will continue to build on their current success as trusted partners to many in the manufacturing and supply chain market as they grow their global presence.
