The pandemic seems to be over (at least it feels like it). But there are some practices that are here to stay. For more than two years people got used to Zoom meetings and online events. Still, an important part of human nature is wanting to socialize and get validation from peers. This is where AudioWeb makes its triumphant entrance to disrupt the world of online and hybrid events.

AudioWeb was founded in Mexico in 2007 and already works with big pharmaceutical companies as AstraZeneca, Janssen and Bausch Health. Providing an innovative virtual platform for organizations, AudioWeb aims to keep in touch with their audience via web and hybrid events.

They help them to get spaces to conduct meetings, training, board meetings, conferences, among others. Their mission is to keep up with new trends by helping the corporate world communicate better with their stakeholders.

So even if people are getting back to in-person meetings, there’s still a possibility to connect with them, even if they are in a different country. That’s AudioWeb’s value proposition, maximizing efficiency and reducing costs for their clients.

Originally from Mexico, Mario decided it was time to explore the opportunities that the North American market had to offer.

“I just landed in Canada, so (we have been) I have been here for five weeks, so that will not be possible without the help of LatAm (Startups)”.

Mario saw the enormous potential of this market for his startup and decided to have Toronto as the place to start building his North American journey.

In his own words: “Why Toronto? Well, mainly because of their AI clusters, incubators and accelerators close to the US east coast, main HQ of a large number of the world’s most important corporations, world class universities, and the biggest city in Canada.”

“From a more personal point of view, it is a multicultural city (I think our kids won’t be discriminated), already familiar with the environment (been here a couple of times before), educational and cultural supply, security and a high level of living (according to The Economist the 8th best city in the world to live).”

Since kickstarting in Toronto, AudioWeb has achieved several milestones. As Mario puts it: “It’s been three months since I got here, and a good amount of the time has gone into giving my family the right environment to settle (housing and education). On the other side, we’ve been part of two incubators, and been able to network with key players in the industry. We are about to finish a proof of concept and I think it will push us forward to accomplish the goals we’ve set. Finally, we’ve been able to establish an Advisory Board.”

It is important to state that through the City of Toronto’s support, LatAm Startups has been able to provide programming that assists not only AudioWeb, but all of the startups in our portfolio.
