Accelerating Interventional Research with CareFrame

Starting a company is no small feat, it requires resilience, vision, and the ability to navigate constant change. Sanjeev Kumar, founder and CEO of CareFrame, knows this firsthand. His journey from working on a CDC-funded project at Henry Ford Health to launching his own health tech startup is a powerful example of the challenges and rewards of building a business. Through his experience, Sanjeev highlights the importance of having a strong support system and the critical role that accelerators play in a founder’s success.

From Research to Entrepreneurship

CareFrame is focused on accelerating interventional healthcare research, advancing the clinical research process within health systems. This includes streamlining literature searches, writing protocols and literature reviews, and conducting scientific hypothesis testing. After working for five years on a major project at Henry Ford Health, Sanjeev was inspired by the project’s success and saw an opportunity to take his expertise further. That’s when the idea for CareFrame was born.

“It’s been close to a year now since I became a founder,” Sanjeev shares. “Being a founder is both a personal and professional growth journey. You’re essentially building your own child, which is your company. There are always ups and downs, but having a stellar team, strong advisors, and a supportive community makes all the difference.”

Finding Support Through Global Startups

Sanjeev’s path crossed with Global Startups at Collision 2024, where he first connected with us. He was later invited to apply for the Go Global Program (now rebranded to Investment & Sales Growth Program).

“Since joining Global Startups about seven or eight months ago, I’ve had access to weekly coaching sessions, valuable resources on marketing and finance, and an incredible network of fellow founders,” says Sanjeev. “The networking events and additional programming have kept me motivated and focused.”

Global Startups provided CareFrame with more than just resources: it offered a community of like-minded entrepreneurs and experts who understand the challenges of building a company from the ground up. The ability to engage with other founders, share challenges, and celebrate wins together has been invaluable.

Advice for New Founders

Having experienced the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, Sanjeev has valuable advice for those just starting out:

  1. Stay Resilient and Focused
“Resilience is key. No one else will fully understand your vision the way you do. It’s important to stay true to that vision and keep moving forward even when things get tough.”
  2. Build a Strong Support System
“Surround yourself with people who believe in your mission. This includes your team, mentors, and advisors. Having the right people around you can help you push through difficult times.”
  3. Adapt to Change—Especially in AI
“We’re in a time of rapid change, especially in AI. Open-source AI models are now competing directly with closed-source ones. If you’re in health tech or AI, be prepared to micro-pivot as the industry evolves.”
  4. Be Bold and Delegate
“Don’t be afraid to express your vision and defend your ideas. At the same time, recognize your strengths and don’t hesitate to delegate tasks. You can’t do everything alone.”

The Power of Community

Sanjeev’s journey with CareFrame reflects the core mission of Global Startups: to empower entrepreneurs to take bold steps, adapt to change, and build businesses that make a real impact. The support from Global Startups has not only helped CareFrame navigate the challenges of the health tech landscape but also allowed Sanjeev to grow as a leader and innovator. If you’re a founder with a vision and the determination to see it through, Global Startups can provide the support, resources, and community you need to succeed.
